Changes to Sky magazines from August 2011

From August, Sky Magazine by post and Sky Magazine LIVE by email will be replaced by a quarterly customer magazine delivered to your home, while Sky Sports Magazine and Sky Movies Magazine will no longer be supplied.

The last monthly magazines will be:
July for Sky Magazine
June/July for S ky Sports Magazine
July/August for Sky Movies Magazine
July for Sky Magazine LIVE by email

The bigger the mags, the less they can say mail volumes are falling.

Anyway, I've always found Sky mags a piece of piss to deliver. Not a hardship.

So instead of delivering a mag a month they glue 3 together and send them out over a period 3 times longer.... devil and the deep blue sea spring to mind!

Depends on WHEN they arrive.... on a light Tuesday I'd agree (I get around 75/80 of them) but if they turn up on the last day of the month which coincides with a heavy Thursday or Friday or worse Saturday* then there a nightmare on wheels to deliver.

* they used to be mailsort then promoted to 2nd.... last lot I think were 1st :(

Straight4wards's point is still more than valid, though. A major customer reduces the quantity of it's annual mailings by 66% and you're celebrating ?
Do the job properly, take your breaks, work to your time. If the volume is too great on any given day, that's what your manager is paid to manage !

Regardless of this being good or bad the practical (to which I refer) side to this wether you do your job as per your contract or not is besides the point.... taking out nearly 80 Sky mags on a heavy day is a complete bastard.

No probs I agree I'd rather have them AND a job just please don't send 'em for delivery on a heavy day!

Those whos experience does not include delivery may not understand the relief
I am feeling at this announcement.
sky mag day can add a 15 kg bag to my round.
it can spoil your day cause you to go over etc.
same problems with saga there are less of them but they are thicker/heavier.
i can have a guilt free smile.
sky work will come and go regardless of my thoughts.

i don't mind the sky mags as wieght is not so much of an issue with trolley the bigger saga mags are different a matter i've had to p739 these a few times not being able to get them in letterbox.
