Was told by DOM today that DSM want's my sector to start using IWT version 7.
The DOM's in the area are less than impressed as everyone's hours are now well over and DSM wants more Lapsing.
MORE UNDERHAND BUDGET CUTS !
Told DOM to go jump, and was then informed DSM is going to come down for a meeting with Me and Area Rep
Should be a Laugh !

Is your D.I.M not getting confused with a "desktop revision" using I.W.T (my personal fav tool by the way) version 7, which has some tweaks to it, trying to equal out dutys to 3.30, which probs means your close reciving mail for c.s.s and then when that goes in you add 1.40 on for delivery methods added packs..........................
No confusion as far as i know.
We are not doing a Desk Top Revision, we voted as an office on it and it came Back NO !
He has said that all Offices in our sector have to run it and that it takes out loads more hours.
Now he's one of the Good DOM's so to speak and he's against it ( Not that he's got the balls to tell the DSM that )
What i would like to know is, Is it agreed and what have they changed in it that makes it take out all the extra hours.

Geezer we had this come in last week... didn't realise it chopped more hours out, not dealing with that side of the revision
but I think it is going to be constantly updated see PM sometimes it works

No,that would be Pegasus/Geo route,the IWT is for indoor stuff.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been. Well Me and the DOM ran it and it has put us back nearly 20%, so from 83% we are down to 65%. Seems all the DO's in area have had similar results.
All the DOM's have been ringing each other and going off on one. ( Bet not one of them say it to the DSM's Face )

We are already at stage 1 Disagreement after the last lot of proposed cuts, and now they want more on top.

After a lot of joint work between the CWU and Royal Mail version 7 of the IWT has been agreed. Now there is no way unless your traffic has fallen through the floor that your perfromance has fallen by that amount based on version 7 of the IWT as most of the changes identify things which you were not given enough time for previously. I would ask for a re-measurement using version 7.
The other aspect is that there is no agreement for IWT to be used as a resourcing tool for absorbtion . As it does not record whether staff are off sick on the day , late or anyother issues which happen daily in an office. It is a guide for a revison it is not agreed to be used to for absorbtion.

If that's not in Black and White anywhere RM will use it for absorption.
Not yet had chance to read through everything on IWT and all the other documentation since BT2010 (I work for a living), so could I get confirmation it is in Black and White and if so where (Document and Paragraph if its not too onerous). I, and many on here would be extremely grateful for that.

Yes Bob Gibson has stating that in writing . Do not have it too hand but it has been stated along with the fact that no where in the agreement does it commit the CWU to get to 100 BSI.

Well i talked to Area Rep today and he says they have played with some of the settings and changed the Model week. The DSM is coming down next week to tell us that the CWU had agreed to the use of the tools and that he wants all offices in his sector to be running at a min of 100% BSI. This he has told Area Rep means we need to lose another 120 Hours. This is in an office that fails constantly, Can only cover rounds if people work their day off every week, and if people don't cancel
their hols at times to help out.Now in my Office have 10 Full-time Duties that includes the locker and and 9 Part time duties 2 of which are afternoon collections and 3 of which are 20 Hours the other 6 are 30 hours. 2 of the duties have only just got put in place.So you can see 120 Hours out will bring the office to its knees but according to the Area Rep they are allowed to use the tools and all we can do is argue it will unworkable if the cuts are made.

Disagreement put in today...................pretty much the same what you just said geeza, they want 100 hours out and my office is on its knee's already, time for some action i think, and the best way i think is an over time ban, one week of that and i think all D.S.M will be out on there ear's, lets see where all the good will of the D.O.M'S are located, maybe geo route and Aplus can help find it, but then again that would involve a royal mail planner, and you know that cant be good................
