Bike Duty

Are there any hard and fast rules about having to use a bike on delivery?

My colleague has to see the DOM tomorrow and wants me up there as support.

He says that when we were going through the revision about 4 months ago and was testing his duty out, he was told it was a LWT trolley duty to be taken out and dropped off in the van and not a bike duty.

We have a new DOM now, but she was the line manager at the time before getting promoted to as our DOM and my colleague reckons that she was present when our previous DOM said this.

Unfortunately she denies this and he hasn't any other witnesses.

He only signed for the duty as he thought it was a LWT duty.

The DOM is a horrible person and I think she would want to take him down the disciplinary road . My colleague is quite stubborn and not afraid to stand up for himself, but I don't want him to get into trouble.
I don't know if he has an viable argument though if it's his word against hers.
The previous DOM is more likely to back her up if he was asked.

Any suggestions?

Thought RM were doing away with the bikes, or have i been missing somthing. Anyway play the safety issue thet probably wont argue that one. Good luck.
