Your DIM may think he's in charge Bringon but he only does what he's told by HIS Manager, and so on up the line.

In WTL, a few months back, we said to our DIm, "We know your hands are tied and you're only telling us what you've been told to say......". At the time he snapped back, "NO! I'm in charge, I make the decisions!". Think he was on a "Power Trip" or something.

Recently in WTL he's admitted that decisions have been made without his input by those higher up the chain, and he feels that he's been taken out of the loop. At last a bit of honesty from Management.

I feel some sympathy (only a little) for these Local Managers who may be trying to work with the Workforce but are being prevented from doing so by their own Bosses, who are even more removed from reality and live in the world of Spreadsheets, Pie charts and Computer print outs.

I think Managers have a decision to make do they ignore their Managers and lose their jobs or, do they go along with them and bully staff into submission. I am afraid it is the latter that is being done.
