As for figures, not sure how it works but others hopefully will come on and give a bit of advice.
Not sure but your age could make a difference.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

You won't have to give a final answer there and then, so take away all the relevent information you are given and give it some thought.
Don't be rushed into any decision, and if you haven't used your local rep, seek him/her out

Re: sickness health early retirement lump sum
Hi Ken,
The IHR lump sum will be near enough the same for everybody, 34 weeks pay, outstanding leave and notice period 9-12 weeks. The monies owed except for the outstanding leave will be Tax and NI Free. It will be paid pro-rota if you are PT
You should take a Senior Rep with you, someone who knows the IHR agreement 2009 would be preferred. Personally, at your age I would take the deal , as the money would almost take you to 65 anyway.
