Do we get paid bank holidays?

As the title says;

Do we get paid for bank holidays?

I would have checked this on last weeks payslip but my day fell on Good Friday so made no difference.

Yes if you were due to work you get paid for it.

I don't do overtime.

I took home the same amount last week as I did the week before.

So surely that means we all get paid for the Bank Holiday, irrespective of whether or not it's your scheduled day off ?
(I'm on a 5-day week and still got paid for 5 days, despite not being at work for 5 days )

The only difference being those who were due in last Friday got the day off. Those for whom it was their day off get a day credited to their annual leave

No there is another difference - on a 5 day week those credited with a day off worked 5 days - those who were not worked 4 days (or less).

The point is if you are full-time and the bank holiday is not your day off you work 32hrs and get paid for 40hrs.
If your day off is the bank holiday you have to work 40hrs to get paid 40 hrs so to balance that you are given 1 day or 8hrs holiday credit.

If you are due to work on a bank holiday, you are paid for it (even tho u dont work it)

If its your day off, you get an extra days annual leave

Yes and No - Yes if they have worked less than their contracted days - No if its their normal day off, but in that case they are due a day in lieu.
