CWU Structure – Briefing Meetings

Further to LTB 241/11 Branches will recall the decision of the NEC to convene briefing meetings to provide a progress report on the structure of the CWU.

The briefing meetings will be held as follows:

Thursday 5th May 2011 - Eastern/Midlands/Wales and Marches Regions

Birmingham Branch Offices
CWU 46-48 Summer Lane
Hockley
Birmingham B19 3TH

Friday 6th May 2011 - Northern Ireland/North East/North West/Scotland Regions

Monday 9th May 2011 - South East/South West/London Regions

Each briefing will commence at 10.00 am and conclude at 12.30 pm.

That would be an absolute minimum I would have thought.

It makes no sense to me OKay London makes sense that would cover say Hampshire, London, Essex and The home counties, and even NI as travel to Heathrow is easier than to Scotland (or it was when I was there).

Bristol for the West Country and South Wales (or everything west of Hampshire and Home Counties)

Manchester for Yorkshire, North West, North wales, Cumbria ETC.

Glasgow for all Scotish Branches.

OK more expensive (because there are 4) , but it means its more geographically spread out. 3 Locations around 250 miles apart in a country that is 600 miles long as the crow flies and 874 miles in the shortest road distance. Fair spread no not in my judgement.
