Partial week's leave question

I'm pretty sure I know the answer to this, but I'll ask anyway in case I'm being thick. If I am allocated several days off during a particular week, and one of those days happens to be my rest day, am I entitled to claim a day back in lieu?

Yes. Although normally (in my office at least) rest days are not booked in the leave system in the first place. So if someone books a full weeks leave their rest day is available as an odd day for someone else.

A few years ago this went around our office for a good long while before TPTB decided that NO... to be entitled to a rest day you must work 5 days. This being RM I guess that each office has its own rules... in fairness I think that our ruling is the correct one.

In our office, it goes like this. Lets say your day off is Wednesday, and you are owed 3 days leave. You usually book the Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, as the Wednesday is covered by the walk reserve. This means you would return to work on the Friday for the last 2 days of the week. I tend not to book days like that, unless I link them to a week booked for the previous week. Just gives you a longer break, but everyones different.

You are in effect working the full 5 days if you use 3 days annual leave credit.
Wigan,of course you are entitled to your day off back,
If you only work a 5 day week why would you have to work three days and then book three days annual leave?
That makes absolutely no sense at all.

no you dont get the rest day back you just take it if a full week you use 5 days annual leave and take the rest day giving 6 days off partial week mon tue wed 3 days rest day thus giving 4 days off using 3 days leave

If you have booked your leave a year in advance you are hardly going to know what your day off is,especially if you are a reserve...so if you book 3 days annual leave and one of them turns out to be your day off....of course you will get the annual leave credit back.

the dim should inform you . how can you use annual leave on a rest day ?
