650 calls...normaly leave oiffice 9.30..post first letter after lapse 9.50...finish most days 1.45...mon or tues 12.30..do 25% d2d every day..non friday ..also floater does his share...sat up the pace a bit to finish 11 oclock..every one will offer the opinion that my walk is shite.

Just a small comment. Why dont we work Good Fridays anymore (Deliveries)? Why do we get twice as much post to deliver on the saturday? Wouldnt the customer like there post delivered on the friday, considering all the supermarkets are open and many other places! We all went in this morning, to be faced by twice as much mail as we do around Christmas time. I delivered one letter from Windsor Castle, and one from Buckingham palace. The one from Buck pal was 1st class and a day over due. All the other crap mail was Sky mags, begging letters and basicaly crap. The main bulk was cards, parcels, and personal stuff. RoyalMail, your problems will not be sorted out by privatisation or modernisation. The modernisation program has failed. It will be sorted out by the slimming down of useless staff, such as uniform contractors! Who could give a s about the new uniform this year! Must have cost them Billions! All the idiots who had the idea of "Van share"! Is it in the interests of lowering the Co2 emissions in the UK? Therefore we will get fined again next year! BRING BACK BIKES TRANSFERS LOCAL DELIVERY OFFICES!

WE in SCOTLAND have been working today(FRIDAY).Why is there so much divide within Royal Mail!We all work for the same company so it should not be the same for every employee nationaly, and not local agreements.This is what Royal Mail and THe union want to cause conflict in the workforce between diiferent areas(ie London) We are one company and should stand as one company and not seperate units (Mail centres,Delivery offices,Distribution ETC).It is headquartes who pay ALL our wages so maybe if EVERYONE stuck together for once,instead of bitching then as a workforce we might be able to do something about our predicament and sort out these fat cats at the union once and for all.(This is my opinion).

Unification of all offices across the country would be ideal and for the most part acheivable..but there are so many varieables..mail delivered to offices.ect..my aim would be a more structured workforce given enough time to complete delivery within all time scales across the country.

You work Good Friday in Scotland but you get more public holidays than England overall.

Just different bank holidays. We get an extra one at new year, cos we work good friday, none in August for example, but get one in September. So it's swings and roundabouts really. Same amount just at different times of the year. TBFH I would rather work the gd friday and have it off at new year, where at least it's extending ure break a wee bit rather than one day off one day in, 2 days off...

Let me get this straight you would rather be working on this lovely weekend?! Think the saturday mail was heavier then normal thats for sure but theres no way it was twice as heavy. Guess most people in normal jobs would be winding down for the holidays so production of mail would go down. Then most people in the type of companies that use our services wouldnt be working on the bank holidays so we would have less mail from them. From our point of view if we were working we would be getting the same money but prehaps an extra days holiday in autumn/winter time. I would much rather take a paid day off in the sunshine then be hauling round a mail bag thats for sure!
