There is an assumption by our management that every time someone goes sick they’re swinging the lead. No doubt, there are some individuals that try to con a few days sick leave but the vast majority will be genuinely ill.

Royal Mail has managed to turn this old maxim on its head “It is better that 100 guilty persons should escape than an innocent man suffer”. Here they seem intent on punishing 100 innocent people rather than let one guilty person escape.

Ours reckons he will be going back through your sick record over the last 7 years if you are off the day after bank holiday/royal wedding etc to see if there is a pattern. I did say this may be bullying/harrassement/intimidation by him so he just walked off. They all talk a good game but as soon as they are challenged they run off back to their little office.
