Fair share on overtime

I read on here a while back, that there is an official overtime sheet which shows all overtime allocated to Posties over the past weeks. Someone stated this should be displayed on the notice board. What is the official name/number of this sheet? I've just been rung up and had my day-off O/T cancelled for tomorrow and it's pis*ed me off as I rely on a bit extra here and there!

Never heard of it see your rep he should have input on any overtime failing that you can have mine

Yup, we have one here BUT I know other local offices don't. Basically when anyone does overtime the number of hours are added up and totalled for the week then monthly.... so 4, 15, 6, 2.5 for each week in the month then a yearly overtime figure say 232.

When overtime becomes available the person with the lowest overall aggregate gets first offer then the next etc We never have OT arguments in our office its all fair and above board! :)

No,but it's only fair to have one,you rep if he's worth his salt should get one sorted.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Where I work - all overtime aggregates for the current year are displayed so everyone can see where they stand in relation to everyone else regarding how much overtime has been performed by each person. If Joe, Fred and Gertrude all sign up to do the same advertised overtime shift then whichever of them has the lowest overtime aggregate gets the overtime shift.

Now, this may just be a local agreement which to me seems the fairest way of doing things - but I'm sure the likes of Dingo will clarify on why this isn't done NATIONALLY and why posties at local offices have to fight to TRY to get O/T on a fair basis.

Same in our office. The overtime aggregate list is displayed on the notice board and updated by the rep or the bookholder each week. That way a fair allocation is given and everyone can see that it is fair. In too many offices the union leave it to the managers to deal with and this leads to all sorts of problems. :hmmmm

From what I know of the local offices in my area the problem is that the managers are delegating overtime to a specific person who then sorts out her/himself and his mates. As long as it gets covered the manager doesn't care, one less headache. Besides its more time for them to sit in the office reading the newspaper.

In my view the Union should be jumping on this one and so probably shouldn't say this but truth be known..... they're more often than not the ones sorting themselves out :(

Our DOM controls the docket in our office as we have no rep or bookholder(no one wants to do either)and just goes to the bods he thinks/knows will do it.
