What do union members get that non union members dont get? They dont get a vote I guess but with the deals the union manage to get for us thats no lose.

Would the RM impose worse changes than they have already? Probably yes [but not by much I think].

As an individual, would your chances to avoiding being crapped on be improved in the union? No not in my experience as long as you know your rights as an employee and can stand up for yourself.

Personally I have been much better off representing myself and found my local rep pretty useless at best, and more of a hindrance than a help on many many occasions.

So all in all I feel we do need a union, but we could really use a better union than the one we have at the moment or at least one that has better leadership!

Unions are only as good as the people in them.....considering how many managers were posties and cwu active members...i feel safer being in the union.

Do you ever wonder what the deal would have been if the CWU weren't involved ? .

If we get privatised and the new owners don't recognise the CWU we will see what deals we the unrepresented get , something tells me it wouldn't be pretty .

You only have to look at other companies who had unions and are now privatised.
No sick pay, minimum holidays and minimum wages etc, etc.
Sick of people always moaning about the union, we all are the union ffs.
They always forget the good work that is done like saving someone's ass after their really poor sick attendance or when they are
in the sh*t on conduct!
A lot of people have very short memories and they are usually the biggest moaners!!
