D2D payments

I would just like some advice, I currently do driving and delivery work and am on the MGV professional drivers grade, I also deliver mail and D2D,but I haven`t been getting D2D payment, I have asked rep and area rep and have been told it has been passed to national level, this has been going on since last april and still no results, grateful for any advice on how to persue this thanks

There is no such thing as a D2D payment, we no longer receive any extra remuneration for D2D, we do receive a supplement for delivery office staff called the delivery supplement, thu sis what you should be asking about!

In this case quite a lot - apparently there were discussions last year between the 2 HQs about people who have fallen between the cracks, and which function people come under, it sounds as though you are in the middle of all that.

To get a delivery supplement you have to be tagged to a DO (doing delivery work is apparently not a reason to receive it ) So if your parent office is not a DO according to the rules then you are not entitled to the Supplement.

However, most other functions do get their own supplements so you should be due something, unless there is an obscure reference within BT2010 that stops it.

As far as I know the discussions are ongoing so just keep bothering your reps, so they bother the Area Reps and onward up the chain. Although you could try emailing the HQ section responsible for your function.

Cheers trueblueterrier, I am in a DO so I will get back on to my rep, but what will happen if I am owed the delivery supplement, and then I am Ill health Retired, or moved to a different job or a different office, will it be back dated?

Morally it should be backdated - However, whether or not it will be will no doubt be part of the discussions.

does anyone know why people on 40 hour contracts get more then people on 35 hour contracts when both are doing the same job with prepping and delivery of D2D's. I would like to say if they are going to pay me less then they can prep them for me

People on 40hr contracts get paid more than people on 35hr contracts because..........they work 5 more hours each week.
Nobody gets paid for D2D.

i mean for the delivery supplement which replaced the D2D payments..as i'm 35 hours i just miss an hour sorting every day but when it comes to D2D's and delivery im doing the same job as everyone on $0 hour contracts but being paid less?

It would have worked so much better as an hourly rate supplement...which it is in all but name.
I guess "a new delivery supplement of 52p per hour" wasn't sexy enough to sell major change.

But maybe a year after its introduction we wouldn't still be reading the "I prep and deliver the same number of D2D so it isn't fair" posts.

would you think it was fair if you were on a 35 hour contract? The extra hour a day to make up the 40 hours is for sorting and the payment is called delivery supplement. So when it comes to delivery everyone is doing the same job. I doubt the difference is worth worrying about but i was wondering why its been done this way..

It's just a name...Delivery Supplement.
You get it because you work in or are tied to a delivery function....not because you deliver.
It doesn't represent work or workload in any way.

i see. i was a bit confused as it replaced the D2D payments so i assumed it was still linked to them. i get moved around a lot as a reserve into different offices so i miss out on being told anything!
