Missed the van

I am only 1 month in & have changed walks so I am quite slow on the frame & on occasion I miss the van so I ask a manager who informs me he will get the driver back to take my bags, however after delivering my 1st bag 3 days on the row I have had to wait for my bags to arrive (half an hour today) as this takes me to a 1300 finish & I work through my break should I book an hours overtime half for my missed break & half for waiting for my bags?

Officially - No - if you finish on time then you cant claim overtime . If you go over then you can claim for that as "late bags" or "late conveyance".

You should take your break somewhere in the middle of your duty but if you leave it to the end be prepared to have a fight with managers when you claim it as overtime.

book o/t for how ever long u go past your finish time. take your break as in your 318.

always work to my 318, unless adso [as directed] . u know where u are with your duty printed and in your back pocket, especially when your m/r is

Get your managers mobile number and ring him if your bags are late TAKE YOU BREAK and book o/t if you go over simples.

could also be the driver has enough to do on his duty,why should the driver be backwards and forwards to his
office. ask the manager to do his bag drops later in the day ( once he is off his conferance call).

But if he is backwards and forwards that means he wont be able to complete either. This is what solidarity means if both parties stuck to their guns and did the job as directed Royal Mail, including a "reasonable" request to return to the Office to convey someone, then instead of the Manager having to cope with one failed duty or set of docket, he has to deal with 2 directly, and probably even more if other posties are affected by the return to office.

This is why Managers put pressure on people we all try to get our job done as best we can, so that they don't have to pick up the pieces. If we all played the game, all the extra demands, or unreasonable expectations would ensure that the office would fall apart.

In my office no part timers take their break (they take it at the end of their walk, which is the same thing). So... if they are mean to finish at 1300 and do, then they claim 30 mins, as adding their break means they finish at 1330. If they finish at 1245 they claim 15 mins overtime. If they deliver until their finish time, or sit waiting for bags, it doesn't matter, waiting for bags isn't having a break, so the 30 mins still gets added to whatever time they finish.

It used to be a similar setup in our office now everyone is told to take atleast half their break at 08:40 of course theres still those that stay on their frames

Meal relief is no longer a valid ot claim for us.
