use of vehicles and parking at do

Park and Loop has just started to be implemented in depot, Hence a lot more PO vehicles . Car parking at it best was bad but now it is even worse and we are no longer able to park in Yard . What is the answer I use my vehicle to get to the depot and also to get to my walk (with the permission of RM and with the correct regs in place ) The car parking that is available for the staff is insufficient and PL vehicles are all ready using this.

I would like to point out this paragraph that was mention in my job application (You need to consider how you will get to work, as public transport may not be available at the start of your shift.)

And was wondering if any one has any answers?

We are about to get it even worse.
Like most offices there is not enough space in our office for staff cars, we constantly have to go around the office to get people to move there cars so we can get out.
Just like you I have RM permission and Business Car Insurance to get out to my delivery and home.
In our city we are about to get Work Place Parkiung tax, so any employer in the city limits where our office is that has more that 12 parking spaces will have to pay around £300 a year for each parking spot.
Royal Mail has not said anything yet, but I guess any member of staff that wants to park at work will have to pay up.
Lots of firms in our city have said they are going to relocate outside the area or move to other citys that do not charge this tax.

Just another case of people having had it easy in the past. Ticking like meters in my office when people were told they'd have to find a parking space outside the yard, along the main road. Just like everyone else does in our area!
One silly cow said, "But I'm not insured for parking out on the road!" WTF.
In Weymouth they've only got about FOUR parking spaces in the yard, and they must have about 40 vans! Even the vans have to park in council carparks up to a mile away from the office.

Your office will be moved out of town and into some industrial estate, lots of parking there.

No such thing as permission from managerial staff, the Business insurance will cease after implementation of P&L revision.

I feel quite fortunate that i get the bus in to work. We have a large DO/MC and tiny yard with no parking available so I dont have a clue where the new vans are going to go for our revision! We already have people parking on grass verges and allsorts just to get a space. The area around our DO also has small roads with yellow lines and traffic wardens who seem to hide near by and pounce on unsuspecting drivers on a regular basis. There are a few pay and display spots aroud but they are wickedly expensive so not sure people are going to want to leave their cars there all day. I would guess our DO/MC is on the list to be moth balled but as yet unannounced so would assume our revision is going to be in place at least a year before any new premises are found and moved into. Our managers seem to barely keep the place together pre revision so f*** knows how we are going to cope in a couple of months.

Private car issues will never cease. Some offices continue to use PCOD, if only to assist with the running of it - AFTER the revision has been implemented!

Start a new post on here and ask if PCOD's are actually being withdrawn in some offices - I DARE you!

Just hope you realise when the park and loop revision is complete, the insurance bond is automatically removed for your office, after that you will not be insured to use your car, so not only will it be a conduct offence but you will be breaking the law as well. Oh and as for starting a new thread asking if pcods are actually being withdrawn, then I don't need to I know they are

We have a tiny yard which only just allows the vans off the road over night. It never used to be a problem though as we started so early you could always get a space outside in the road. However when they introduced controlled parking (but not in the road outside) the locals just left thier cars there overnight and now you never get a place. The Council did approach RM and offer heavy discounted parking rates (key workers ) for staff but RM would not pay.

I park about a mile away at an old mates house (well his parents really, he never moved out) and then i cycle in.

Oh btw lets not turn this into a private car on delivery thread as i really dont want Calpsy on here waving his winky around.
