more cuts and savings

we had our usual "team brief"....."postman bashing"........"shaft u time" this morn,,,,,told royal mail needs to make drastic cuts,,,we cant stress how bad this is....we need to save 5% of the hours in the office. LOL
funny how they give u a pay rise and then the following week we need to do extra LOL
this equates to some were around 50 hours a week,,,,we did stress that a few full time postman had finished so there was the saving but this fell on deaf ears.

he did tell us this was country wide and really urgent that the savings are made........anybody else get the same warnings this morn,,,or is it more lies from above

Yea they are trying to bring in this business plan (5%) and want methods revision or other revision savings on top!!!!
We are going to disagreement over it!
All the more that people start doing the job properly!!!!

its the same at our office, the whole office is bullied and harrassed into working beyond thier means to make savings,, next ROYAL MAIL will ask us to work for nothing,,

id actually love to know if any office does stick together... i got in on my time today to find 75% of the staff had been in at least 30 mins early as they had prepped all d2d and thrown in walk sequence... it is completly de-moralising from the first 5 seconds i walk in..

Isn't it a coincidence that every single year they need to save 5%. The only difference is the reasons they give.
And why does every revision take out the exact number of hours that they had originally wanted even though that is not the intention, well according to RM.
Could it be that they are not telling the truth?

why save on a company thats worth f***all ? ( share price ) its a load of s**t its just more money for the clowns at the top. do the job properly and stick together.

They ask for 5% saving but end up giving 15% out on overtime. Royal Mail has to be the worst run company in Britain.

Is it urgent enough to look at what line managers(who get paid more) do when we get out of the office. Plenty savings to be made , by stopping walking round town, sat with your feet on desk read paper etc etc etc.

We were told this. Since we still haven't been paid the £200 for the revision we implemented 4 months ago I think **** off was the general response

Our staff and managers found out yesterday that RM are no longer paying the bus companies for travel - that would be ok if we had the CDV revision in yet but we haven't. Our office is now having to pay cash out for staff bus fares while loads of vans sit downstairs unused

Don't use the buses then - demand that your managers organise acceleration to your first delivery AND a return to your office at the end of your hours, with anything over either getting cut off or docket booked. It is management's responsibility to organise your transport & pay for it, not you.....would you accept it if a manager said "From next Monday, everyone will have to pay £2 every week, so that myself & the other managers won't have to waste half our wages on crap overpriced machine coffee, and doughnuts & cream cakes from the bakers?" Would you? I doubt it, but by paying your own bus fares you could be paying your DOM to make budget cuts for this year ( ok, not very concise, but just think about it & you will see that they are taking liberties with you ).

I don't catch the bus, I use a van. And no-one else is paying their own bus fares either, they are being given the money from the office petty cash

I was just pointing out the fact that some manager within our region decided to pull the plug on bus company payments with no alternatives in place. Do these people have absolutely no idea what is happening in the offices they are supposed to be managing?
