Door 2 Door Delivery During Bank Holiday's

We have been told by our line managers that during all these Bank Holiday's coming up that on certain weeks we will have either 4 or 5 days to deliver all out door 2 door items instead of 6 days.

I thought we only had to do a minimum of 20% a day, but now we will have to do more due to there being less days in the week to do them.

I mean it's getting rediculous we now get 5 & 6 lots every single week, even though the union kept saying "Don't worry lads you will only end up with 3 lots a week like you currently get".

In the past when we used to get payed for door 2 door items you used to get an extra payment in weeks with Bank Holiday's to make up for the fact that you had less time to do them.

Considering if you take in to account the Bank Holiday's you will be taking extra day's worth of mail, so it's not like you will have the room in your bags to carry all that weight.

What's happening in your office.

our frames have days marked at the top of each column, making 6 days, monday on the left going through to saturday on the right.

if its my day off on monday (for whatever reason) under no circumstances would i take mondays D2Ds on another day.

We have been told that new door 2 door sheets have been printed for those weeks with less days and that the mail has been condensed in to the fewer days so you know how much you will have to take each day to do the complete 100% in the days allocated, be that with Bank Holiday Monday or Good Friday.

We no longer have a Union Rep, the last one who was useless (in with gaffers) has quit and no one wants the job.

wouldnt the minimum 16% cover for 20%.

i thought it had come down to local agreement over D2Ds.

we got.......
deliver one a day to every house.
then........
bang the lot in and take where you are delivering (weight off the shoulder????).
now its 1/6th a day.

works for me but like i say i wont touch my days out.

It wouldn't bother me if they asked me to do 100% in one day.
As long as...
A.Management are aware that this will impact on my potential delivery span.
B.Weight on delivery is addressed.

I know what your saying, but the only good rep we had years ago was sacked for cutting off and bringing mail back the following day (he should of known better).
The rest have been very corrupt and all the staff have no respect for them anymore and would never do the job even if there life depended on it.
I guess we are truely scr3w3d.

To be honest I just wanted to know what other offices are going to be doing.

It's kind of like the Polling Card thing where you had some offices being paid 3p per item others 6p per item and others told to just do it in the normal delivery time frame for free.

no, we have had this in our office with floaters not delivering them, i refused to take them as the floater should have done them.

happened on a few occasions but i point blank refuse.

there were boxes of them strewn under my fitting recently when i had been on annual leave, i stuck the lot of them outside managers door.

we do them m-f, non on sat! 20% a day all agreed.
Don't know about BH yet?
but as other stated if day not done then i don't take extra to cover.
we have 3 streets that are covered by ot or extra staff and d2d's sometimes never done!
