... title says it all ... my normal walk is (allegedly) one of the 3.5 hours jobbies - currently working at another office (up't'road) where they tell me the walks are set out as 4 or 4 and a bit hours -moving towards P&L I guess .
So when your contracted hours are 4.48mins ... it would be nice to know what the hell is going on ... Docket calls ...

How long is a piece of string in RM 
My walk is from 4hr to 4hr 40min. Most in my office are around 3.5hr to 4 hrs these days. However there are still some which can be completed in 3hrs

One mans walk is another mans jog. We are not robots so i try not to subscribe to the 'this walk takes this long' etc. If a man can do a walk in 2 hours 30 and it takes another 3 and half hours how long is the walk? Should the more efficient guy (One who delivers mail to customer asap) walk slower to appease the hour seekers or those that claim the walk is over sized?
Royal Mail should run the Olympics. I can see it now, penalizing the 1500m winner because he came first.

Depends on how many bloody long pathways you have got, travelling time, rurals, the amount of door to doors.
and never rush about, those days are over. Those that benefited the most as postmen, are the managers, and guess what they certainly dont want the same set up.
Its amazing how quickly the company that used to be very generous with overtime, suddenly became so stingy.
