Can you have a vote of no confidence for a manager?

What would happen?

Could he pass this on to the DSM?

Not sure, you can get your rep to put in an disagreement over something.

If you record a really BAD have your say result they will send down a fact finding team and you can tell them what you think. We had a terrible manager a few years back and everyone said the same things about him so they moved him to another office.

His demoted to a postie now

Yes we tried this some time ago with about 70% of the office signing the letter of no confidence. Funny how the ones who moaned never did though. Anyway, said dim went off sick for a bit, kept his job and turned into super bully to those who signed. He is still at same office. In my experiance it don't work.

Having spoken to him this morning I have to say he's at breaking point, pressure from all avenues is beginning to take its toll. Ranting and raving like a loony today.

The Have Your Say results were so bad at our office that HR sent a couple of people down to find out what was going on. There was a meeting in the canteen and people aired their grievances and a follow-up meeting was pencilled in.

So a few months later HR were down again, sitting in the canteen waiting for all of us. Unfortunately the DOM 'forgot' to tell us they were coming. No action was taken against him and he's still there making our days a little gloomier than they need to be.

Yeah ours went like that, a total arse really

We used to keep tuning the radio up loud whilst he was on the phone, kinda had some effect

you write the vote of no confidance get the staff to sign it then hand a copy tohim then send a copy to the dsm and the area or branch rep

then let the meetings begin ive only ever known 1 in our area in 20 years

Ive never known the whole office be against the manager but thats what we have here, and he's only been with us since the turn of the year.

Getting grief from posties who cant/wont lapse, getting grief from his DSM cos he wants whatever it is they want, yesterday, getting grief from other managers cos they wont lend him their underlings to cover OT/lapsing no-one will touch.

Funny we had a great manager before and he didnt have these problems.
