Two weeks ago i was given 2days notice i had to take 2wks annual leave even though i hadnt booked it ,this was on the thursday .after another s**t day at work on friday i gave my line manager my security pass and said" you better keep this in case i dont come back".went in to work as normal this morning to be told i hadnt got a job as I has packed it in.Now if i was going to quit i would have done a letter of resignation and given a weeks notice.Its ironic that i started the grievance procedure on the first week of my holiday!. unfortunately i am not in the union so only have myself to blame but i urge other posties to join up because more of this sort of thing is going to happen in the futurer as they look to save money.my line manager used to be a really top bloke he but he has changed now.Best of luck to you all as up until xmas really enjoyed the job and worked with some great posties.

Knowing RM willingness to get rid of as many staff as possible,for as cheap as possible,i can't say i'm surprised at whats happened to you.Was a bit of a silly thing to do IMO,did you say it in a jokey way,or a more serious tone?I'm sure we've all had days where we've felt like telling em to stick it,but at the end of the day,its a job in difficult times....good luck

I was under the impression that to force two weeks annual leave on you, you must be given twice as long as notice i.e four weeks... not two days!

In the circumstances, it sounds like more fuel to your fire to make this liberty-taking lino suffer at an employemnt tribunal.

I went to work saturday morning (reg bay) and while sorting the specials found one addressed to me when i opened it i found that i had been retired on ill health grounds with immediate effect
the issuer (area Manager) has gone off on holiday
