.. i'm sick of this torment and torture from management,,,,,,,, i hate royal mail for impossible work loads, i don't know how long i can go on with this.... forced to work your breaks, the computer says you can do it,, the figures says it can be done on the computer......... royal mail are destroying its work force,,, and the union just stand by and do nothing..... it's so, so sad............ good bye. from all of this............. death is the only way out..

as for responsibility to union ive spent 2 and a half years fighting this revision had a 3 page document about problems with the revision and the royal mail just brought it in over my head.
the area and divisional reps both involved failed to back me and in fact helped force it through where was there responsibility to me ?.

I believe in unions, i think they are absolutely necessary, but the way the CWU is run now is not as a union should be run.

For area and div reps to sideline a local rep, who is representing his members, was the final straw for me. And, as you say, they did more than just sideline you, they bullied and lied to your members, and forced this revision in, a revision which is now being questionned by the CWU.

I'm amazed you are stil repping mate, really, big respect for that anway.

i agree with you 100 percent ..its all right the grow a pair brigade on here spouting off ( a revolting term by the way ) but RM are taking full advantage of every opportunity .to screw us over ..everyone lay down and got their tummy tickled over the d2ds ..now they are doing those virtually for free .and adding 20 to 30 mins extra to walks ..walks that are worked out by a PC ..based on the absolute lightest day possible ..staements that mail volumes are dropping .are untrue ..as the frames are rammed nearly every day .i used to work in the retail sector ..and thought things were not great their ..but it was no where near as bad as royal mail

This is the best post i have seen in a while postman8.
This is exactly accurate as to where i am as a rep in my office, i know i worked bloody hard to represent the interests of my members and that is now, not how it looks to the staff in my office, as royal mail( in front of the divisional rep) brought it in anyway.
The office is now, and will continue to be in absolute chaos.
Everything i told them that would happen in an official letter/document last autumn is happening.

RM are taking full advantage of people's..."lack of awareness" ...i'm trying to be kind.

If you start when you are meant to start,take your break when you are meant to take your break and finish when you are meant to finish...how exactly can they screw you over?
Anything you do in between your start and finish times is just "work" and as long as you do that to a reasonable standard then you really are bulletproof.
If members continue to fail to see the big picture here they can hardly blame Royal Mail for taking advantage of that fact or the CWU who cannot protect members from their worst enemy....themselves.

There is a post in another thread that says something like....there is no time built in for D2D...i have to book 30 mins overtime a day just to get finished.
That unfortunately sums the whole "unachievable workload" thing up for me.

You say , I don't Know how long I can go on working like this . I'm almost certain if you start some self help steps you will be able to go on working for RM a lot longer . As someone really got a gun to your head telling you your not allowed a break ? . Go in this week and start taking your breaks , you will feel uncomfortable for a short while but once it wears off it will be replaced by empowerment not to mention the physical benefits . Managers will definitely take the p*ss out of posties who take the p*ss out of themselves .

thats what ive done on mon had dfs posting along with matalan all dsa aye mails down alright
also had half polling cards to where i was going boxed them in 15 min before start time
on leaving office i then informed line man i would be extended to what line and dim replied if you got polling cards no ot to be paid
was already 1hr late on leaving office i then informed them i will put all poll cards back in frame and work to time i was then informed i could not do this i would need to take them as i was being paid blah blah
took everything was not finished until 3.30 not happy next morning was refused ot to which i then replied ok im now doing the job to book.
at 9.30 i informed lin man im going for my dinner see you in 40 mins and will be doing this from now on.
they now have to pay pt driver ot and to wait on me every day now while i have my break fcukin magic.
their faces are a picture every day
imagine if everyone did their jobs properly
