Some advice on recieving stages?

Was wondering if someone could give me advice please.

Basically i am on a stage one warning at the moment , i had to take a day off last week ill and today recieved that dreaded letter about attending an interview withy manager where he decides whether or not to issue a stage 2. i know for a fact that he will because thats what they always do. The thing is i have only had 2 days off sick since i recieved my stage 1, both on different occasions. these absences were 7 months apart and it says on the attendance procedure that a stage 2 will be considered if you have 2 absences within a six month period within the 12 months. so therefore i should not have been triggered?am i right or am i missing something? if i am right how should i go about resolving this? hope this post makes sense.

Did you let the office know on the morning that you were taken ill or were you just a 'no-show' ?

yeah i did all legit. had my back to work .

are the absences that triggered the stage 2 highlighted on your sick record that should have accompanied the letter from your DOM?

If your absences are more than 6 months apart you should be ok............

Have you spoken to ypur rep?

yeah they were highlighted but why would they trigger a stage 2 in the first place if they do not go against the attendance procedure?

no i am but my union rep hasnt been about for awhile.....think he off sick.

is the 6 month period between the sick days you had
because RM often work from the date they issuse the warnings

was issued stage 1 on june 2010.

1st day off sick aug 2010 (1 day)

2nd day off sick april 2011.(1 day)

so there was seven months between these absences. that is why i am confused why i have triggered stage 2 cos it says 2 absences within a six month period.

aug - april is eight months
just talk to your manager and tell him that it has been triggered wrongly.

defo issued june 2010. guess i will just have to wait and see what happens at my interview next week. but i know for sure i aint gona let them mug me off.

thought this was all to be looked at again by hq stage warnings for being off with throat cancer honest boss im no kidding gonna die in couple of weeks so sorry but i cant come in today ffs britain wake up

if your rep is off then ask the area rep to attend the meeting. If your rep is off sick and they is no sub rep then ask for the area rep to attend the meeting.

Correct, can happen a delay in processing can mean although the interview took place the paper work may not have been issued until later ! Same scenario with me, stage 2 was upheld
