Royal Mail Letters – April 2011 Pay Increases

The purpose of this LTB is to advise Branches, representatives and CWU members, that Royal Mail has confirmed earlier in the week the pay rises due under the Business Transformation 2010 and Beyond agreement will be implemented for weekly paid staff on Friday 8th April.

For all relevant grades this is a 1.4% increase to basic pensionable pay and the new basic pay supplements. The increase flows through to allowances, London Weighting, Scottish Distant Islands Allowance, Scheduled Attendance and overtime rates.

Also as per the agreement the additional 2% for Engineers and Professional Drivers (Network/Area Distribution) will be paid at the appropriate point in line with the terms of the agreement. For these members the additional 2% was agreed as an alternative to the one hour reduction in the working week.

The new pay rates for all affected grades will be sent out in due course.

We can also advise Branches that in response to the company’s recent announcements, the Union has commenced discussions with Royal Mail in line with the policy agreed by the Postal Executive.
