I think someone would have to be a bit DIM to seek to become a DOM when Royal Mail recently announced they are looking to lose 1,000 managers.

Mind you, some of dem DOMs are so dumb that employing an even dimmer DOM would be no damn surprise to most of us

Oi, pack it in! The OP asked an innocent question....for all you know they might be looking for a transfer to a different part of the country, and can't trust their DOM to do the legwork of asking the other DO if there are vacancies, or the business, from delivery to collections, network, processing, MDEC or whatever, and if you don't know the site you need, how will you know that the only jobs on it are either FT management grade non-jobs, over stressed & underpaid POL jobs, or PT worker's grade jobs on less hours than you might have now. Ok, once in a blue moon a half decent job comes up that you might be qualified to do ( you might be lucky and find it is within 2hrs commute as well ), and if you go for it good luck, but be prepared for a lot of fruitless searching.

Nah, it's my fault - I rushed the post before shooting out for work - and forgot the smilies to give some context and anyway, if I was a screw, I wouldn't be on here whinging....I'd be too busy watching my butler count my money - you have to watch these filthy dirty, nasty working class types like a dashed hawk....look away for a second & they'll have the silver in your country pile.....look away for a minute & they'll have the gold in your mouth. If I had my way in the DO, I birch the bally lot of them, 5 stroke every morning for their impudence ( what makes them think they can be working class and get away with it! )
