Is a part abscence classed the same as a full abscence?

I have heard that if you go into work,Work for a short while then go off sick but return to work the next day,This does not class as a sick day Just part abscence which cannot be taken into consideration for triggering stage warnings.

Can anyone confirm this as it is really getting on my nerves.

A couple of people are always at it in my office,Especially this girl,She had "Flu" Last thursday,She was in work for 2 hours and went home,As always she was back in the next morning,Flu my arse.
This always happens on a really busy day,Every house days,Ie council tax,Sky mags,Or mail shots,She sees how busy it is and goes off sick always to return the next morning.

What is the ruling on a part abscence?

Yes it's true but if a pattern forms or it's a regular thing then management can put it down as a full day.

Personally I would raise your manager's attention to the pattern you have noticed, and suggest that everyone else is being discriminated against, as it seems she can bale out of heavy days at will, etc, etc. Normally I would NOT advocaqte stitching a colleague up, BUT, like thieves and sc*bs ( those that take pleasure in crossing pickets ), who'd want the likes of her as a "colleague"? IMHO she has rescinded her rights to your support, and those that live by the sword, perish by the sword.
