work time learning

a couple of years ago royal mail/the cwu negotiated that each week every employee would get a work time learning /listen and learn session is it now a national agreement that this has stopped or is it just romford management because they have cut too many jobs out we have had about 6 since novenber 2010

same for me in my office! they just dont want to slow us down so we dont book overtime!

Been working for 2 yrs I've had 2 of them.

Dont worry you will soon have extra jobs when east londons work arrives in your office as for the work time learning ,would rather no go and sit in the same room as management what a bunch of w***ers they are all been told they are losing there jobs and the spinless C***S don't say a word tossers all of them

The last one i attended was in november we now have "huddles" instead,the manager comes into isle reads some stuff off sheet dom gave him then buggers of back into office.

A few times i have been asked to sign a sheet saying i attended a WTLS when the manager knows i've only been in building 2 minutes.

Theres seems to be a trend developing here. I thought there was a national agreement on this. The managers will try anything to get more work out of some staff in our delivery office.

why is it called work time learning?
we have em every tuesday and I AINT LEARNED A THING just propaganda by management tho they have told me to take care out there its snowing or its windy or its YAWNnnnnnnnnnn

We bearly seem to get WTL now as well.....not had it for months, we did however get it last week. A few members of staff walked out saying it was a load of rubbish....away back to tie up their duties and run out the door.

Work time learning stopped getting them years ago, no one is interested including the manager. Likewise "have your say"

It's part of your working week and you are entitled to
30 mins off the floor ( i know it's the same crap they
come out with at each session)I have been asking this
question for years and no one (union or management)
will give me an answer, if they don't hold the WTLL
then we are due the 30 mins from them ....be that
an extra break or an earlier finnish.Or they could
just buy the 30 mins back from us

They would rather lapse rounds on an easy Tuesday than have a WTL session, haven't had one for 6 weeks in our office now, not that we learn anything anyway
