park and loop guidelines

Does any body know if there is a set criteria for the park and loop system ,like [a] should the loop timings differ for the driver to the walker,is there a limitation on walk size i e distance. [c] when walks are tested who else should be present to varify the timming and workload of loop and the round as a whole,[d]use of pda,[e]times for parking ,moving from loop to loop ,loading and unloading of van, bag changes, [f] time for frame sorting including deads and redirections bagging up and loading of van and vehicle check prior to leaving office,.... the reason i ask is because i spoke with people from a couple of other offices and they seem to be doing a different thing to us and each other if this is the case no wonder its confused and in a state.

thank you ive had a quick look theres a lot there and am to tired to sift thru,but nothing in black and white and specific that i noticed,but then again i am knackered seems to be a permanant state at the moment. if there is anything out there that is crystal clear let me know especially on the loop sizes and why they differ so much...

lol yes there is a lot but your rep/planner/area rep/those who are helping the revisions should have quite a lot of info.
But anything specific you want just ask as some on here have been through it.

cheers my first is why are the loops different for the driver and walker the planner told us there is a slight difference so the driver can go off and deliver o/s packets you couldnt get in yer trolley but the dom said they should be the same and do the packets after whos right

Either option works but you have to pick one so your planner and DOM have to sort themselves out.
To be honest i would avoid leaving them until the end because you can't do that with o/s specials anyway and you will probably find yourself covering the same ground twice.

Hi Twobags - I have been working Park and Loop from a two man shared van since end of Feb and do it like this :

Ist walk -
3 loops for me all linked together with common top up points (drop boxes serviced by the driving partner)
2 loops for the driver, after the first one he leaves in the van and delivers parcels and tracked for both walks (which are not adjacent but pretty close to each other) phoning me after when near completion to check how I am doing. By the time he has finished his second loop, I am walking to the end of my last one to meet him. We are usually within a couple of minutes of each other overall so whoever finishes first get s a short breather.

2nd walk
No van deliveries needed so the walk is split into 2 large and 2 small areas with one refill point which allow us to adjust easily if either of us has an unusally different workload. Works well although we are going over regularly, but we do have slightly early and on time finishes as well - but then again we don't work in a business where customers are regulated as to what they can post every day :)

The boxes are still there so we saw no problem in using them for our own deliveries - no one else needs to deliver to them, and they are just as secure as they always were .

The same place I would have stood for the last nine years I have been using them - The DOM has approved their use if we need them (and on light days we don't) - they are RM property - what's the problem ?

Well...... i haven't heard any mention of trolleys in rhino's posts....
