Manager knock on my door

I was off sick for 2 days.It was my first sickness in three years.Third day, around 5.30 pm someone knocked on my door.Surprise surprise! It was my manager from Royal Mail. He said that he was just passing by. We all know that it was not the case. He was checking on me. I am angry and feel harrassed and bullied . What kind of action I can take against this manager (who previously was a senior cwu rep) Can some one give me some advise?

When are people gonna realise the bloody Union is a toothless waste of time. GET OUT, AND SAVE YOURSELF OVER £106 A YEAR.
Until they get in some people who are savvy and know how to organise in a proper union manner, stay out of it.
I was a union member for over 35 years in various jobs, and the CWU are without doubt the worst.

exactly, its the only word out of our reps mouth,i can remember phoning in sick last year and the same day got a letter inviting me in for an interview to discuss barriers preventing me from returning to work. they also expect you phone each day at your start time just to tell them you won't be in,also our last rep is now a manager and our current manager used to be a rep,just how widespread is this.

If this was any other company other than Royal Mail, I would have said April Fools, ha ha, nearly got me

That is outrageous though. From my short time employed, grievances are just a waste of time. I would let his tyres down on his car just for a small bit of self satisfaction

Maybe a grievence form is a bit over the top? Prehaps worth speaking to the Bullying and Harrassment call centre and seeing what they have to say? Your manager definitely shouldnt be doing that kind of thing he just seems to be pressuring you to come back to work.

So what happens for example : You pull your back and there's no way you can walk and carry on a 3-4 hr delivery so you go sick and rest up for a couple of days but still dont feel up to walk. DING DONG you ans the door and a cheery manager is standing there, nice So he goes away and reports that he or she looks fine to him as you made it to the door !

What happens next do they insist you return to work as youve been seen by a manager

Well I used to do exactly that, although there was no hidden agenda and I'm going back more that 20 years.........it was a genuine concern for the welfare of the person who was ill and their family, did they need shopping, could the kids get to school, you know the general sort of thing, I would do what I could to organise something...........nowadays ?
