Moved to full time

Made permanent full time last week after having a 4 years on 30 hours due to buy down,Kids and needs must now so cant turn the extra cash down.

Office has had a resign so i changed my round.

My new round is a piece of piss,Takes 45 mins on average less than my old one,I leave the office 45 mins on average earlier than i did with my old round.

I dont do any ips sorting,Just casually prep 25 hour guys rounds.

Im doing extra hours and have it alot easier,So something which i suspected for a good while now has been confirmed.

Congratulations Ghost Glad it's worked out for some one. DIM tried to put the frighteners on us this morning by saying, "We don't think they'll be as many FT duties as we thought there would be after we've done the Revision!"
Don't think he's made enough savings for his new car. We were hoping to get quite a few lads made up to FT but we'll have to wait and see. Enjoy your new duty.

Yes you are dead right,But the rep is full time and the majority of workers in our office are full time,So the part time worker can vote against it as has recently happened in our office but never had a chance with the amount of full timers voting for rather than against.

Today i started at 6.30 and finished at 11.30,Never had it so easy now im back full time,Nothing equal or fair about it atall.

Your right not all rounds are equal and sadly (in my 22 years exp)never will be. Two of our temp rounds are 4 hr monsters but there are still some 2hr 40min ful ltime walks which get back 11.30 am each day

Now yes but we're talking (i guess) pre 2010 type revisions,SDD,P&M ect.

Know what you mean DGP ours has been stalled for nearly 12 months because there weren't enough savings being made. Mind you we've had a handful of planners turn up this week so maybe they've been told to sort it! TBH it's not our DIMs fault it just keeps getting kicked out by his Boss. Perhaps he's not saved enough for his new car.

As for voting on these Revisions... PTers are less likely to be in the Union, especially the latest batch of short term contract lads, so any Union votes are naturally swung towards the FT members... just a fact of life.

Revision has been done,This is why i have been moved full time,Only a section are in vans,The rest in 6 weeks me being one of the rest.

I already know my partner round,My round is having 10 mins taken off and 30 put on,Same with my partner who is also on a joke easy round.

Part timers have had their picks,Because their joint seniority adds up to next to nothing,Once more they are shafted onto monster deliveries.

Even after a revison Part timers are still on bigger rounds,Shame on Royal mail.

If a part timer is given a monster delivery and wants to finish on time the monster delivery becomes a monster problem for the lino in my opinion.

In our office some full timers who are paid until 2.45 DO finish at 11.30. I am nearly always on a delivery right up to my finish time (I rarely go over). It does not seem fair but neither is it the full timers fault.

It will all end up in tears eventually though.

Park and loop has been done,Rounds exactly the same as they were but have each been given 30-40 mins from another round,30-40 Mins on paper that is.

Joint seniority......................Yes,They asked us to pick partners which we were happy with,Added the seniority together and this is how the pics were handed out,IE John 25 years in........Jeff 13 years in = 28 years joint,Malcom 22 years and Sue 19 years = 41 years. They did this from top to bottom and obviously longest joint seniority got 1st pick.
Dont know how other offices did it,But as i said,The part timers were shafted once more as most have only been there a few years so no long serving full timers wanted to pair with them for fear of having a pick way down the line.

So if there's 2 old knackers who've both done 30 years they get 1st pick and a couple of young guns who only have 3 years each pick up the left overs? Well I suppose it's one way of ensuring Seniority still has some value. Trouble we're having is there's only a few couples who want to work together! I think they'll probably have to draw lots to see whose working with who. After that they can argue about whose driving.
