Hello all, new to the forum signed up after doing a bit of googling and find answers to my questions on the forums. Very handy for anything I did want to know thank you!

I went for an interview a little while back and didn't get that job at the time but they said they would like to hold me on the waiting list. I didn't expect much to come of that but I got a phone call saying the other candidate had dropped out and the position was open for me if I wanted it.

I agreed and that was on the 17th now. I don't have anything to hide and she said it could take around a week or so and still haven't heard. I am so eager to leave my current job that the waiting is agony!
Is it normal for it to take so long? Would it be worth contacting them you reckon?

Yes, I would follow it up. They are generally not the quickest when it comes to recruitment. Just remind them how much notice you need to give with your current position.

ha it is I have had enough, had enough about 12 months ago so itching to get out.

I called in the end and the woman I spoke to last time wasn't in today so she was going to speak to someone else and see if she could find some more information for me.
