Having read various topics in different rooms with very little positvity and alot of negativity about the c.w.u..
would you stand by the union if they did ballot for strike action ?.

I stand with me, always have, always shall. That's not to say I won't step up to the plate 'for the greater good'. But only when it's MY greater good that is at stake. If somebody calls me out for a nonsensical cause in an ill-defined war, then there's no chance of them gaining my support. So, we'll see who I stand by when the battle lines are drawn.

the tory gov is bound to be out to break any union that stands in their way but without them we are nothing.

Not this time ! Lost to much money for nothing, to be sold down the river for phantom shares that are worthless !! Our office has been waiting for over 3 weeks to see our rep, empty promises, I think the £ 3 a week is better off in my pocket

I will stand by the CWU, if members are not happy with billy and co, leaving the CWU will change nothing, all it does it make things more difficult at local level. Stand up and be counted, you can't always turn the other cheek, get involved and be heard, stand up for your work colleagues, UNITY IS STRENGTH .

Yes i will cont to support the CWU as they were never for CollegeShares anyway so i dont blame them for whats happened there. However any strike in the current climate would be a big mistake so i would not support that. Guess that makes me a maybe then

I'm only going to support the CWU if they call a all strike that will last indefinetly. A lot of people will be saying oh no but your going to lose a whole lot more if we don't stand up and fight. Soon we will be working for min wage, our pension will be worthless(don't try these tory government) and conditions are poor now but will be worse in years to come. And lets not forget bullying by management it will get a lot worse too. One day strikes are no good, two day strikes are no good, rolling strikes are no good. All out the only solution.

Yes. If we are called upon to do so, I will be at the gates in a heartbeat. We can talk about how much money we lose for days of action etc BUT I refuse to be pushed about anymore. Enough is enough.

If and when it comes to it, I would call upon everyone who supports a strike to do so actively. There is nothing worse than a handful of 'the usual lefties' stood there whilst everyone else is treating it as unpaid leave. Now is the time to stick together because once divide and conquer sets in, frankly we're f*cked.

Not to be too melodramatic but 'It's better to die on your feet than live on your knees' is beginning to resonate with me an awful lot just lately.

I applaud your attitude about unity ....BUT......there wasn't so much unity from BT2010, where the headline was "Winners ( FT union officials ) & Losers ( delivery staff & d2ds, PTs & FT hrs on PT pro rata, MC staff & their closures and redundencies, etc, etc )" We probably will get totally ass invaded by Dave, Gideon & the Tory Boys....but we haven't had much else from Allen, Adam, Lord M, Ed No-Balls & especially Billy & Dave Quisling

What would you do? Lose 2, 3, 4 or more days pay to get bent over, or keep the cash & take the pain?

CWU has gone down in a lot of members estimation over the last twelve months. They can buy us back now by doing something positive for us for a a change..Lets give them one more try...

The cwu would likely not be able able to carry a strike vote at this time.
leave alone a good picket /striking turnout.
The membership in my office feel abandoned both locally (minimal visitation by area rep) and
nationally by the relative silence "up top" .
the culture of intimidation is back with us.
delivery members were sold down the river.
Changes to their terms and conditions were used as bargaining chips
against promises of no compulsory redundancy's in processing.

I dont know what the union can do to restore faith.
some new blood ? if billy and dave were out of the picture?
these old dogs have failed us bigtime.
