Enquiry/callers office on a Saturday

Do you have the nesscary number of staff working in the enquiry office? Do managers stay on site untill the enquiry office is closed for the day?

Yes,we have 2 phgs(1 in RLE,other on door)who both cover the door on a Saturday,and yes both our managers help out if required and stay untill the end of there Duties.

Simply put: NO,


One person runs our callers, if it gets really busy ie they are queing across the car park and the DOM cant get his car out, then someone will come in and help.
At 11.30 another person will take over and work through till close at 2pm, often on their own in the office as everyone else is long gone.
The regular person is a PHG, but any help or cover is from normal posties, and the extra bit till 2pm on a Sat is again by a normal postie once they've completed their delivery.

Im serious mate,both of them work there full hours everyday,in the Doms case alot more,hes out delivering walks well in to the evening some days.

Just laughing cos most are long gone not just on the Saturdays .

My last manager gave me his HOME number and told me to phone him there if i needed him after 11 .

PHG closes the locker at 10am sharp, queue or not.

Rings around for confirmations, leaves on or before 10.30am.

Saturday's yes,most of the time, occasional locking up by phg or whoever is in callers office. Wednesday evenings no. One staff member there until 8pm.

We have 2 ex phg's who run the counter. Our dom goes home once all the deliveries have gone out (not inc OT) which means she's left by 9.15am most sats.

We have one person in the locker/callers 0600-1400 on saturday (same as weekday hours). Callers closes at 1200. They will stay with the DOM until everyone is back which is normally about 1500.
