Rotational Day Off
Ive been employed for about 2 months now and ive had 1 saturday/monday off which was the first week as i started in the DO on a tuesday. its been tue, tue mon then back to only tuesdays since its the best day for lapsing. im a reserve and part time with 25 hours, although usually get about 30 with the overtime i get for prepping the frame. am i entitled to 1 in 6 saturday off/long weekend? or does it just come down to the DOM's decision?

Speak to your rep and your manager.
Ask them to sort out a rota for your days off.
Explain that you understand "operational needs" and the need to be flexible but never getting a long weekend is not an option.

I've been here for 4 years nearly and have had 9 or 10 saturdays off, and 2 long weekends if that..............get used to it mate, that's what the reserve life is all about!

I spoke to a collegue today and he told me to speak to my rep on wednesday. Im off tomorrow, surprise surprise. He also said that one of the reasons for me being employed was because the person who was on the duty before me had the same problem And was only getting tuesdays off for about 6 months then he quit as he was fed up with it. Even though i wouldnt quit over days off i wouldnt have the pish ripped out of me. But anyway, a few topics ive had a read at (unrelating to days off) seem to give he message that managers like to try it on so i guess ill just have too see what can be done. Cheers guys :)
