This "new deal" was going to throw up 1 of 2 things :

That Royal Mail,(brought to independent parties) would honor EVERYTHING and dissolve all of it's hate towards our workforce?

Or the new deal would show EXACTLY what Mr Leighton/Crozier left behind. A wall of hate and contempt by the employer on its employees. Royal Mails chief negotiator on the deal hasn't been seen by the CWU since April 2010,yet he is calling the shots imposing exec action.

Moya Greene meeting with the PEC is a huge come down by the business and they DO NOT agree with her meeting the PEC "cap in hand". Moira needs to weed out these people. I will give you an insight into what we have to deal with.

The ,(DSM's/Directors/HR) meet and pick out reps who are "awkward". I don't mean a "quiet word" either. They sack them and destroy their lives. I am serious!

I don't give a rats arse what our leadership say or do to be honest as they don't want to lift their heads above the parapet. This also goes for DOMS and MC managers. Time and time again they tell us "I would negotiate a local agreement but I don't want to get the sack".

However lets not critisise,but organise and fight back. Divisional reps start sanctioning ballots immediatly! Failing that..who knows what will happen? Maybe the "rank and file" will have to step up again,as a 200 years of people being pro-active have shown......debate?

I see many posts on here that champion the cause of the union - yet I see no reciprocal action by the union for the membership. What I see is a bloated organisation taking care of its own business which in the case of the last agreement was actually detrimental to the those who support them and especially part time members. That of course is the crux of the matter. There has been more than 20 members recruited by RM in my office since January all part time of course, not one has to date joined the union and the branch has made no approach to them. When it comes to action I'm afraid that unless the union can demonstrate that it is both willing and able to tackle the problems on the shop floor and to take on the management and create something from the shambles that is 2010 and Beyond then they are on a hiding to nothing.

To be honest, I think the union would have a major struggle to get the rank and file to support them in action ever again after the last shambles of a deal. There has been no leadership from the top at all, only strengthening their own position in the workplace to our detriment. Did anyone else notice the advert for the union in the courier a couple of months ago...THE COURIOR....that sums it up for me, when royalmail are quite happy to let "our" union advertise for new members in their own paper, you have to wonder what's happening. Also, who would we be mobilising against? Royal mail? The Goverment? I'm beginning to think we have bigger things to worry about than even Royal mail managers. we all know the government has an agenda to sell us at all costs. these might be looked back on as the good old days once TNT, DHL..ect get their hands on us...

agree with getting organised and fighting back drb(though i wont hold my breath),but i wouldnt pin yer hopes on Moya Greene being some king of soft touch,she may look like miss Marple with collagen implants but shes gonna run down Royal Mail
