ANY D.O. HEALTH AND SAFETY REP`S ON HERE ?

thinking of doing this myself as we don`t have one in our office so looking to see if theres any pro`s or con`s about doing this role .

If you become a trade union-appointed health and safety representative, your functions are set out in the Safety Representatives and Safety Committees Regulations 1977.

Be carefull with this role I quit this last year due to a lack of back up from the very union that wanted me to do the job . I would not touch it if I were you .

can you give us some indications as to why you felt let down by the CWU

I was asked to perform some safety actions by the area manager in a big meeting , When I did this I started to get bullied by the local management at my office as in extra work being put on me . I did give the union in coventry around two months to sort this out but no such luck. After 4 years as a safety rep I will never do a cwu role again in any form hope this helps

think i`ll give it a miss .

i was a cwu rep for years in our office but give it up a couple of years ago for what seems to be the same thing , can`t please everyone and no backing from either side . guess this explains why the role is still vacant
