Doing the Job training records ??

its all well having a induction day at head office. But what about when you start in your DO . I was allocated a coach but spent the day riding shotgun with him as he is a driver. Was then put on a walk for three days with a colleague , And then have been left to my own devises to get on with the Job. While I am lucky to have been on the same walk for three weeks now I am having to throw the walk in my self and have just found out that all these D2 (JUNK MAIL ) that has been building up around my frame that I am supposed to sort and the delivery and sign some paperwork to say Ive done them. I am not signing for any thing that I have not been shown or told how to do. Surely they must be some training records (in house induction for the DO). I have not even been given any PPE. suppose I should be grateful I was given a mail Bag.
Also last week I was given some extra delivery to do as the drivers were not able to deliver the censors (have claim over time for this as I am only on a 30hr temp contract) and when I had some censor return in the post as posted at the wrong address ,my manger did not seem to understand that I had not done this bit of the route before and did not no where every house is? Also this week I went to deliver a small package and the customer was out so I carded this and return it to the PO. Only to go in the next morning and be told that I should have gone around the back door as the customer was in , I then explain that I am not Physic and if I am not told then how am I suppose to no.

Surely they should be some training records to bee sign in house to say you have been shown different aspect of the Job. eg The paperwork for sign delivery's ect, Any special instruction of the route , correct lifting practice fire exit (have not been shown any of this).

Sorry for the bad grammer. Any pointers would be gratefully recevied.

my 1st reaction was to question wether the dim could read at all but on reading the link i wonder how many dim's completely ignore this procedure and just treat the newbie like s**t from day 1.

Hi Kizzy. I'm a coach and when new entrants come they have a training record which we fill in as everyting is covered. They get them at the induction. Are you on a 25 hr contract in which case you should NOT have to prep your delivery. As for the D2D issue, it's a disgrace that your coach didn't show you how to deal with them , and get onto your manager about it. If you are on a 25 hr contract these should also be prepped for you. I've had countless arguments with managers over this recently. As for the package, you did your job correctly, you knocked at the front door and there was no reply , you left a P739. End of story. Your manager should have defended you on that score. Sorry just noticed your on a 30 hr contract in which case they will expect you to prep. If your struggling, have a word with your manager, or if your not confident get your coach to actually do something and have a go at them for you.

tbh, you're lucky you even had a workcoach!! When I started 5 months ago, it seemed the LINO did 'ip dip dog sh*t you are it' to whoever would be 'training' us.....and I use the term 'training' very loosely! I also spent my 1st day training with a driver on their round, whom finished 1 hr 30min before I did and got dumped to do the walk bit of their job. Luckily for me I knew the area like the back of my hand.....NOT I should have realised then that is the way they roll but put up with it until 3weeks ago when I was offered an escape route.
Think you just have to grim and bear it untill some other new guys come in and then they can treat them like sh*t instead. Fyi, making a stance didn't work at my D.O, I just got labelled a troublemaker...for what, only wanting to do my hours Yet the guy who did as he was told, worked over, had no break,didn't moan about the basic hours he was owed and took out another part of a walk, got put onto collections before I left and got his uniform. Not even some 2nd hand boots for poor old me

You will also be lucky if your LINO knows procedures i.e weight of 1st bag,2nd etc and if you have flats.......didn't manage to find if we had any weighing scales at my D.O in the 4 months!
