Annual leave fiasco

Put in a holiday form on 18th jan for 2 days in september,got knocked back so lino said i'll sort it.
Got told today no chance. Wot a company we toil for if u can't get hols off in 8 months.

have they looked at the mmp for the september dates what the a/l limit for those dates?
what was the previous years traffic for the days you want off in september?
has the leave form been returned with REFUSED on their or was it verbal?
dont give in keep asking why

zx135, If RM were more accommodating then there would be no need for this tactic. He ASKED to take part of his allocated leave and they refused. They were given eight months notice, you telling me they couldn't do something if they really wanted? More likely they could, but could not be arsed to jiggle around the roster a little.

NON-FLEXIBILE is correct, find out why it was refused, this sounds very harsh.

As for doing them favours in future, you know what to do and say to them now! The thought is very therapeutic.

Your either overpaid management or new to the business and have no children or outside commitment's. If it's the latter then please wait until you have been in royal mail long enough before passing judgement. ....8 months notice!!!!!

I can understand your annoyance but I'd wait until closer to the time where something might be able to be worked out. Thing is though if the amount of allotted time is fully booked its somewhat harsh to blame your DOM. In my office Christmas is a very popular time to have off..... some get it some don't despite around 12 months notice. Welcome to life!
BTW I've been in RM a good few years and no I'm not a manager just a lowly OPG.
