Has any other offices been told by AGM or DSM that they are not SDD compliant and that mailsort on Sat
has to go??
Our office was tested under SDD for town deliveries and not rural (too afraid to look into them!!)
We are paid the 26.28p, all town deliveries are 3.5, towns have longs and shorts, so i don't know where they are coming from!!
I was under the impression it was a NATIONAL AGREEMENT!!

under sdd mailsort can be left out on saturday Existing National Agreements. SDD:-
Saturday attendances will be significantly shorter than weekday attendances. To assist this Mailsort 3 need not be scheduled for delivery and missort runs should be rescheduled to enable an earlier start on town residential delivery routes.
The new delivery specification will provide delivery offices with the opportunity to tailor and agree start times to meet employee and customer requirements. Delivery employees can commence their delivery when all due mail has connected.
In the event that future changes to indoor workload and arrival patterns signal a need to review start times for operational reasons this will trigger a national review of shift payment criteria at the request of either party
NO mailsort at our office ( yet! ) though our gaffer keeps hinting at it all going on a saturday! he says it should go as it is charged more than dsa. regards dongash opg macclesfield " home of the macc lads!"
under sdd, you are not required to take mailsort 3 on a sat, however we tend to all sort it, and take to where we are going with live mail, but that is our choice not a managment incentive! the only reason we do it is that we then get an easy monday!!
sorry for seeming ungrateful i know what the SDD involves, i just wanted to know if managers in any other offices have tried this.

MS every Saturady at my office. Nobody has the balls to question the managers abt it....think i will this Saturday! Infact, i reckon my office has forgotten all about SDD

my feelings toward m3 on sats is well documented...i never have..and never will deliver any item of mailsort on saturday!! won't even touch the stuff at the ips,it goes in a skip and stays there till Monday,i've done battle with several Doms over this and yet the my resolve is strong..You don't have to take it...Period. just quote the way forward and SDD.
WE NEVER TAKE MAIL SORT ON SATURDAYS, AND IN THE FUTURE WITH THESE LATER STARTS AND WORKING 75 MINUTES LESS I RECKON DOMS WILL HOLD THIS OTHER (MAILSORT BY ANOTHER NAME!) RUBBISH - OTHERWISE THEY WILL BE TAKING OUT AN AWFUL LOT OF INCOMPLETIONS!!!

As I understood the agreement for SDD, our office has a 6 hour duty on a saturday (05:00 - 11:00 including 30mins meal relief) and so doesn't take mailsort three, but offices with a 13:00 finish treat it as a normal day and take all available mail for that day.
our finish time 12.45 but do not do MS on saturdays was the agreement. some take it where they go others pick it out before throwing off and no problems about it

Under the changes we were notified of - all the days would be equalised at 8 hours X 5 for full time duties but we presently have a few people who do very early prep starts as part of their family or special needs arrangement - if there is no work for them there may be problems accommodating their duties, although we still don't believe that the change is because mail is arriving later due to legislation.

yes on the town but if you study the SDD its very very vague on the rurals-------they don't know how to deal with them!!! no savings to be made!!!
