Training Payment
When the workplace coaches were taken on, I read that if anyone training a postie on a new round they would receive a training allowance for that day, when the Workplace coach was not used. When I asked the DOM to make the payments he said he had not heard of it. I have searched hi and low for the paperwork with the info.

This would help use the coaches as at the moment they get their £30.00 and in our area not being used. This would be a big incentive to use them properly which I know they would like.

The workplace coach and training allowance are two different things as the workplace coach sits a test and gets the money in their pay every week regardless of wether they are training or not. The training allowance is an ad hoc payment and it works out to be about £18 a week. Your manger has to put you through for this.

If one member of staff is being paid to coach/train staff, then is would be reasonable to ask the same for other staff doing the same job, if the dum
won't pay ad/hoc O/T then it is a form of discrimination against the employee doing the task, also there are training issues all staff should be trained to
carry out a task even if that task is in itself training so I’d refuse to train anyone until I was trained and paid an ad/hoc equivalent to the coach.
