So BBC reports today that RPI is down to 3.8% and CPI is down to 1.9%, is this going to play into Royal Mails hand's as they can only now have to increase their offer from 2.4% to 3.8% the current rate of inflation.

Only if you believe that these statistics represent the true increase in the cost of living. Remember the govt. has decided to exclude all "volatile indeces" from the inflation calculation ie mortgage interest payments , fuel etc. Youll be fine if you have no mortgage , dont use gas ,electric, petrol and forget that its mid August.

You have to look at the rate of inflation in April (4.8%). That is when our pay deal is due and has always been the marker used by both RM and CWU.
