Family friendly leave.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but as part of the agreement after the industrial action in 2007 was there not a specific 'clause' that gave people with children more chance of taking annual leave when the schools are off on holiday???

Not specifically "people with chidren" No - But it can be agreed that extra slots can be made available to everyone if duties are lapsed. http://cwule.org/rmpayandmodernisation.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; (thanks to the Liecestershire Branch for this particular link)Typhoon wrote:Correct me if I'm wrong, but as part of the agreement after the industrial action in 2007 was there not a specific 'clause' that gave people with children more chance of taking annual leave when the schools are off on holiday???
• Efficient Summer staffing – each unit will utilise the opportunity offered by reduced traffic volumes to re-arrange responsibilities during the summer period. This will offer employees additional opportunities for leave during the same period.

I got a small child and share the child care duties with my wife. I've received no leave during the school summer holidays despite applying for 3 different weeks. I would like to see the 2010/2011 Annual Leave Agreement. Is this available online anywhere?

Sorry as far as I know there is no National Agreement on local leave or on how it is picked. There is a national agreement about carrying forward 5 days as a right, and with a managers permission if more.Sergeant Blast wrote:I got a small child and share the child care duties with my wife. Sounds like a local agreement - I buy extra leave and have no stipulation placed on when I should take it.beeswax wrote:teebs my good man, is there any truth in the buying extra weeks annual leave though?

However I may be wrong and there may indeed be a National Leave Agreement, or indeed it may be included in a major agreement, but with the amount of different ways of selecting leave I tend to think it is up to local discussion.

Re: Family friendly leave.
On the application form for annual leave that I filled in it states: "Leave will be allocated as detailed in the 2010/2011 Annual Leave Agreement". Are you saying that my office just made that bit up? It doesn't seem right to me that guys without kids that have joined RM more recent than me, have received part of their annual leave in august. I will have to speak to my DOM on this, but would like to have a better understanding on the criteria used for allocating leave, first.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:Sorry as far as I know there is no National Agreement on local leave or on how it is picked. Re: Family friendly leave.
There are various guidance notes in the way forward agreement which can be viewed on line at http://www.cwumerseyamal.org.uk/Royal%2 ... eement.pdf" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; it starts at Page 18. Hopefully any proper reps might know if this has been superceeded by any subsequent agreeemnt.Sergeant Blast wrote:On the application form for annual leave that I filled in it states: "Leave will be allocated as detailed in the 2010/2011 Annual Leave Agreement".
