I had a face to face.
It was a proper doctor but she didn't take her clothes off.
I rolled my trousers up.

The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Forest, the quack will NOT examine you, it's also debatable whether you will actually get a Doctor or some halfwit who is qualifed as a nurse

Re: face 2 face refferal
Just had my medical 2 weeks ago tomorrow. Was a lot of talking about former rehab plans. How you are coping with your job, how you are coping atm if you are on indoor/light duties. It was a face to face with a doctor. Not a nurse. She briefly examined my knee, agreed with what my own doctors have said (yes its fuxx0red) and then told me what she was recommending, and wanted to explain things fully to me. Had to work 7 more days, as i had a week's holiday to take, and officially retire on Saturday. Hope that helps as to what will happen :)

Forest, the quack will NOT examine you, it's also debatable whether you will actually get a Doctor or some halfwit who is qualifed as a nursethey should in theory have you down for a face to face with a Doctor,in any case they just sit there firing questions at you like what meds are you on ,when did the condition start etc etc...we are talking about Atos who uses that abysmal LIMA system that diagnoses people on a set list of medical
![]()
questions, the facts are RM will have, how can we say this... asked them nicely
in their business referral if they think your ill enough to retire you, even if you can do some sort of job Atossers will take great delight in saying your unfit, you will then get `offered` ill health with a lump sum....they wont offer you ill health with immediate pension if your under 50 as it would cost Royal Fail a fortune and also you won't get it as you have to be at deaths door or an ex cwu rep or something
![]()
(another great agreement between Royal Fail and CWU,
![]()
)and even then these heartless feckers would probably still try and wangle out of paying you,oh and if you really are sick and have to leave and claim benefits as your too ill to work Atossers will send for you within 6 months and then TELL YOU YOUR FIT FOR ANY WORK and stop your ESA or DLA payments and make you go onto jobseekers.
To say that you only get Immediate payment of Pension if your under 50, at either deaths door or a 'EX CWU rep or something' is utter nonsense and you should withdraw the comment.
ATOS have their faults but making comments like that, is untrue and unhelpful.
ATOS make their recommendations to RM regarding IHR and in nearly all cases the RM will accept those.

Touched a nerve there eh?To say that you only get Immediate payment of Pension if your under 50, at either deaths door or a 'EX CWU rep or something' is utter nonsense and you should withdraw the comment.

saying your an ex cwu rep and got the full pension something that most mere postmen don't get offered these days as Royal Fail are NOt going to offer you a full pension IF they can get away with paying people off on the lump sum option.
I will say it again it is very hard if not near impossible to get a full pension if your under 50 with this lot now...do you recognize this post?
Who posted this I wonder?I had heard stories from all over the country over the last year (since I was given IHR) where staff who were finished were given the 'cheaper' version of IHR when it could and should have been a pension.
Atos are absolutly shocking company and doing people out of both their works pensions and benefits,if you want to defend them then fine...I guess if i had a positive experience with them then I might

, but don't expect me to withdraw any comments as they are a shocking company.
Im not defending ATOS for one minute. When IHR is given the recommendation is given by ATOS which RM in most cases agree too. There are appeals processes which a colleague can go down if they are not happy with the outcome. IHR with Pension is recommended by ATOS . RM will accept that if that is the advice given to them. That is why ATOS is there.
You have no evidence to suggest otherwise. Your comments regarding CWU Reps getting better treatment than others, and there is a 'so called agreement' is a complete and utter lie.
The IHR agreement is better than most blue chip Companies.

Re: face 2 face refferal
You have got to meet the criteria for IHR and pension. I THINK it's if the face to face doctor doesn't think you will be able to work in the next 10 yrs. I've seen 5 in my office get IHR. 2 of which got their pension. One guy had a very serious illness but has now is in remission. The other had a serious lung problem. The 3 who had the lump sum, myself included could do other kinds of work. Just not the physical stuff at RM.

That is about the jest of it..
Carrying out his current duties;
Carrying out such other duties for the employer as the employer might reasonably expect the member to perform; and
Engaging in employment with any other employer of a type which, in the opinion of his present employer, would be reasonable and appropriate for the member.
There is nothing stopping you working after given IHR with Pension though - as long as you havent committed fraud by convincing the Doctor that are condition is false...
