Will the use of trolleys one day prevail .

Post by skull »

I heard a postie in our office today , he was trying to convince posties to start using the trolleys . He used the argument about long term health benefits and more hours being returned to the office due to the duties taking longer . Even the office managers want us to use the trolleys , but at the moment it's only want instead of you must . But it's all falling on death ears :arrrghhh .
Then he said " if we had been using trolleys for the last 100 years and RM brought in a new working method where we have to carry 8-16 kg bags instead , how would you feel ? . You could hear the cogs going around in their brains for a couple of minutes before they totter off with a bag over their shoulder :arrrghhh . At our office I would say between 10-20% of posties on P&l use a trolleys .

Do you think the use of bags is here to stay or will the use of trolleys one day prevail ? .

Come on RM and the CWU get the message across with a bit of conviction that " it makes sense to use a trolley " .

Are office hasn't not done P and L yet. But I use a trolly anyway and I think they are best thing ever. I have no more sore neck or bad, so it depends what kind of delivery it is your doing. The trolly suits some duties, but others not.

If the duties is not suitable for the use of trollies the that is royal fails problem, when P & L comes in I don't think you should be using bags.

Pre 2010:
DIM:But Bob has no problems doing that duty, and the same when Bill's on it.
OPG:Yeah but Bob and Bill come in early, skip their breaks, use their cars, carry overweight bags...

PO 2010:
DIM:But Bob and Bill have no problems doing that duty.
OPG:Yeah but Bob and Bill come in early, skip their break, drive like the clappers, don't use trolleys, carry overweight bags...

c***s!

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

skull, how many posts are you going to start about bloody trolleys?

Stop wasting your voice on here and do it in your Delivery Office. It's no good just hearing a postie make their point and not adding your weight behind it, stand up and say something. If only ten to twenty percent are using them and nobody speaks out then how do you expect it to change?

I suppose you could make your arguments on here where nobody knows who you are and then try to get everyone to come here and read them. Then you would feel less guilty about skipping up and down each street with your one and a half bundles in your hand and no trolley.

Himmaggen your jumping to conclusions again , have I wronged you in another life or something ? . You've got me wondering about how many posts I've started about trolleys , I think you know more than I do , your not an internet stalker are you :nervous . I try and talk everyone who partners me into using a trolley but to no satisfactory conclusion , when I think I've made a bit of progress they just pop that bag over their shoulder and off they go .

My posts about trolleys must have some interest to you because you always seem to post an opinion . :dance
Please stop complaining and wasting your voice about me wasting my voice on here :dance .

Today was a light day and yes I got away without using the trolley except for 2 loops . I even tried pushing the trolley but that doesn't work for me . Hope it gives you nightmares .

Another itelligent post that will help RM and it's employees thrive . If posties come on this forum and put forward any suggestions , ideas or thoughts other than doom and gloom , the managers a wa*ker , I hate RM , or do the job to spec blah blah ,blah they just open themselves up to be a target .

 Sense of humour failure I think - he was having a laugh with you not at you. (the I'll get me coat comment should be a clue)

BTW I see no difference in that and you wishing someone has nightmares because they comment about you commenting on here. Both were meant as a gentle ribbing, and if you can't take it - you certainly should think about whether or not you should dish it out. :hmmmm

You still don't get it and have confirmed what I'd guessed. You seem to be using this platform in order to make yourself heard, not the one which matters. Stop just having a private word with your P&L partners, stand up
and tell all eighty to ninety percent of them that they are ruining your job and future and that you hold them all personally responsible.

Sad :TrueBlue your missing out on a bit of sarcasm I think . I'm certainly not the first and last for missing out on a bit of humor . So I'll wave the white flag .

I'm just getting a bit worried about Himaggen's attention to me , out of his last eighteen posts , eleven are plucked out of the air conclusions about me or just critical towards me . I'm getting more attention from Himaggen than from my own wife :nervous . I got the message that he doesn't like the way I work but for some reason he can't let it go .

Your Jumping to conclusions again Himmaggen :arrrghhh , your either a wind up merchant and like a dog with a bone can't let go of me . If your painting a picture in your mind about how I work then that's out of order and a bit creepy , unless your God that is . I've only responded to your posts because you have this unhealthy interest in me and it's a bit worrying , other than than I can't remember any of your posts that have had any interest to me .You just carry on with your one dimensional " just do the job to spec blah, blah, blah " posts and leave me alone . I only post imformation I want to post , so you filling in the bits in-between is your problem . If your aim is just to aggravate me , then it's working but the energy and time you are wasting is also a waste to this forum . Starting a thread on " Will the use of trolleys one day prevail " is of interest to me , if your not interested don't post and don't post things like below :evil/mad .

I do apologise if I have aggravated you in a way which does not help focus your intentions towards doing the job properly.
If I have jumped to conclusions which were or are unfair/incorrect then for that I also apologise, (I am unaware just yet what those are, but will be happy to hear them if you see fit to respond).

All the below are your conclusions of me and the way I work .

1. Stop wasting your voice on here and do it in your Delivery Office.
2. It's no good just hearing a postie make their point and not adding your weight behind it, stand up and say something.
3.. Then you would feel less guilty about skipping up and down each street with your one and a half bundles in your hand and no trolley
4.The only reason I can think of off the top of my head why you would change the system is to perform more work within the allotted time or to complete all work before your finish time. What this actually means is that you would end up over-performing, which is detrimental behaviour.
5.I'll tell you why, because you knew it was wrong!
6.. The walks which you've stated were re-introduced post revision were not as a result of you doing it your own way, they were the result of failure doing it their way .
7.Altering it helps nobody but yourself, in the short term, and an every man for himself attitude is a major contributing factor to our current situation.
8. you will not get the achievable workload you are crying out for.
9.You still don't get it and have confirmed what I'd guessed .

So I''ve come to the conclusion that you've concluded that I'm wasting my voice on here and not saying anything in the delivery office .
I'm over performing and guilt ridden .

I knew that splitting our loops into two was wrong . Altering the loops helps nobody but myself . One loop has 120 flats and so far no one as insisted they want to tackle them on their own , but maybe I still have to work with someone like you.

The walks weren't re-introduced because posties where doing it RM's way , the office is a free for all and as long as the vans are used and posties go out in pairs everything after that is up to the individual , the duties were to big , with bags or trolleys , full stop .
I'm not crying out for the achievable workload , from my point of view I don't care if it's unachievable , if I want to work over I will , if I don't I won't . I'm just trying to point out to posties that in my opinion , it's not the P&L way of working that's at fault but the worlkoad itself .
The I've confirmed what I guessed bit really sums you up and you have dug a hole for yourself .

I know I said I wouldn't respond to another one of your posts unless it was constructive to the forum but I couldn't let it go and had to point out where you were a little out of order .
