Can anyone who uses the LCTs on P&L say if they have any trouble with dog crap on the wheels, if they have reported any trouble with it and if they have been given a solution other than avoid the crap.

yes we have the same problem wet mud and other crap all over the bags and the back of the van, thats great when its all over your hands and no the doms think its funny , until last week when i handed him a special with dog much all over it. surely you would have a seperate compartment for the 2 trolleys.

I Just do the same as when you have stood in it , run the trolley wheels through puddles , scrape along curbs or run along grass verges . A segragated compartment would be a good idea but if you have a really bad problem with dog crap I would invest in a hand spray pump ( £13.00 ) and fill it with disinfectant . I know it's wrong to spend your own cash but in my opinion dog dirt is even worse than some of the RM managers who often get a mention on these forums . Blinking heck I've just promoted some of the terrible RM managers above dog crap things must be looking up at RM . The only time it will become an issue is if it gets on a customers mail but then we should of gone the extra mile and licked it clean .

It was precisely for that reason I asked the question in the hope that there WAS an opinion involving H&S. It is true to say that there are health issues of various kinds but I didn't want to lead any answers to that conclusion. These contraptions have to handled throughout the working day. The garden hand pump with disinfectant is a solution and should be provided by RM, who should also supply hand cleansers in case of accident.

Having just read the other thread regarding pushing/pulling the LWT,wouldn't RM just say,as you are pulling the trolley you should be able to see and work round the dog mess.

They must assume that your overriding task is to avoid dog s**t and that you pull each individual letter out of the trolley, BUT life being what it is one hand pulls/pushes the trolley, the other holds the bundle and guess where the eyes are looking.................... not on the pavement looking for a gift from our four legged friends.................now responsible dog owners carry poop bags and clean it up..........and that's like expecting everyone to do 30 in a 30 mile limit.

You are not pulling the trolley directly behind you.
It's difficult enough to avoid standing in it yourself without trying to judge the width of the trolley.
Most times you don't know you've hit the s**t until the s**t hits the van.

I've been Reading this topic over the last couple of days and thinking to myself , I haven't gone through dog crap for at least three weeks . Today my luck come to an end and getting back to the van there was dog crap all over one of the wheels . So for about four minutes ( yes 4 mins RM , sorry ) I'm on the grass verge dragging the wheel sideways trying to scrape it off. My stand-in P&L partner wont use a trolley so on this one occasion she could smirk , I'll get my own back when she totters off groaning because of the weight she's carrying over her shoulder .

Not saying it's right,but you know how RM work.

I'm quite prepared to do a detour round it no probs,if it adds time it adds time,tough s**t,pardon the pun.
