Online application problems

Hi has anyone heard of any problems with the online application as my son can't access the online test and questionare part of the application. You can't get any help from anybody anywhere i find it so frustrating. Three days we have been trying to get help and it's the same answer over and over. Unfortunately it must be completed online. Thats a great advert for us isn't. Royalmail are digging their own grave. And before you say it try someone elses computer, tried 6 different ones and downloaded all the different applications direct from Royalmails own website. Any help appreciated.

Chuck up a link and I'll give it ago... wonder if RM has all the people it needs so the site is not working rather than saying "Sorry no Vacancies!"??

Hi indy the problem isn't with the original link. Recruitment sent an email with a link to complete the test online. You don't get that link until you have applied for an advertised position. Even management say it's not user friendly. They are doing my nut in.

What type of file is it?

Is your computer able to read it?

We downloaded all the applications that they run ie firefox and all the others, still no joy. Just got another reply from recruitment just saying if i want complain about the online assesments i can do so in writing I replied whats wrong with complaining online. They are mentaly retarded i think.

I had problems with this before regards the pop up screen for online test etc. My problem was the browser being used. I was using Chrome which at the time wasn't compatible, it is now following codecs etc being added. Small chance it could be your browser, internet security options not allowing pop ups or even your anti-virus software

I did disable the pop ups but still no luck they just don't want to know. They don't care.

Can you see the file extension (for example pdf or rar)?

I remember something similar when I applied 4-5months ago actually, was glad I clicked practice test first as if I clicked the real one the timer may have started. As mentioned above I have a feeling it was popup based, and seem to remember using Internet explorer instead of firefox was a temporary fix.

after reading your posts I'm unsure at exactly which point you are getting stuck at.
If you can describe in a little more detail or even post a screen shot. Error messages etc.

I did three of these tests for different DO's at the time so I know the system pretty well.

My son says there is no file extension. He knows about computers i don't.

It's when you get your reply with the link to sit the test. When he clicks on practice test it says the computer won't support this download or something so we downloaded all the other applications to support this. Still no good. Tried 6 different computers.

whats your virus checker and firewall.

I see you might be running the new Windoze system like I do - have you installed a new firewall and turned off the Windows one. Sometimes having 2 firewalls can cause these sorts of problems.

We are running windows 7 and we only have one firewall.

They are going to forward my complaint to HRSC complaints team. Take it thats something to do with human resources.
