Well the time has come for me to hang up my boots. Ill Health Retirement has come through at last. And after first face to face with ATOS it was recommended :D Less than a week later, it's all signed and sorted, which surprised me a little bit as I didn't expect RM management to be so efficient. So a big well done to them. It's what I've been waiting for for a while, I know it doesn't suit everybody, but it certainly suits me. My last day is this Saturday, and officially finish up on Saturday 3/3 due to having a week's holiday to take.


So good luck to you guys with all the changes, no doubt I'll still pop in now and again to keep up with the news. Keep up the good work of keeping posties informed, I've certainly learned more about RM since I joined these forums than I ever did working for them. So a heart felt thanks for all the good advice you have all given during my short time at the forums. Thank you all :nana :nana :nana :nana :nana :nana :nana :nana

glad you got what you wanted. I too have ben IHR'd, my last day will be this Friday 25th. :nana

In the last week I have seen and spoken to two of my former work collegues, and both of them say i am better off out of it! The changes happening at my former D.O. are massive with other do's closing and being amalgamated into mine. etc. etc.

There does seem a lot of IHR , but i guess there are a lot of injuries/illnesses that are associated with this job, so I would expect numbers going on it to be higher than other Job areas.

I too had a good and swift experience with RM regards my IHR. Two weeks from start to finish too, (if the payslip comes in on Friday that is).

I echo the words of Mazza111, I have gained invaluable information, advice and evidence from others experiences, and that I too thank everyone for, too many user names to mention, I hope the posts I have left will be useful to others.

You don't realise it but you are all part of an valuable resource that is rarely found= Community, don't loose it. :Applause :wave

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.
