Always the postmans fault

Post by gundog140 »

I ordered an item from ebay, and found this wonderful piece of advice in my conformation email.

"We have dispatched the following item to you on 15th Feb 2011 using Royal
Mail (1st class standard service for UK buyers & Airmail service for oversea
buyers).

For parcel dispatch using Royal Mail 1st class standard service, it normally
takes 1 to 3 working days for delivery. If you haven't receive the parcel
after 3 working days, we like to suggest you to check at your local post
office / sorting office. Based on many of our customers experience, in most
cases the postman didn't carry out with them big parcels for delivery and
in some cases they might forget to leave you collection card."

It really makes my blood boil to see this sort of thing, many times I've had customers asking where their parcels are because "the sender assures me they've dispatched it"
How many times do you guys notice these "missing" parcels arrive with a postmark days sometimes weeks after it was supposed to have been sent? I know it's possible that these may be replacements, but having questioned customers about it I find this is mostly not the case. This is especially true when customers have been expecting a special delivery and it hasn't turned up. :evil/mad

You are spot on there! I recently had a run in with one of their self starter drivers.................I'd bought some perfume for my wife's' birthday...........the stupid cow left it under a bush in my front garden.....two days later she was back with another parcel..........only this time I was watching on the CCTV. I'd queried the fact that it didn't need a signature despite costing a tad short of a £100 and if she considered it was a safe and secure placed under a bush in my front garden and she said YES............the fact that we were in on the first visit, the porch door was open, she didn't ring the bell and it clearly said on the label leave at my neighbours....................I wouldn't use that company again if they were using DHL. You think you are paying for a reasonably secure and professional service and get some bimbo in a clapped out cortina. :evil/mad

Not my birthday ft, maybe my lucky day...............but it wasn't

As for the cctv, I have two systems, one to a HD and one live to the computers.............and yes I had them installed because of delivery people saying they'd attempted delivery when they hadn't! One local firm was notorious for saying they'd attempted next day delivery when they'd been nowhere near the house, each time it happened we claimed the delivery back :nana

As for the webcam......................I'm usually performing on it not watching

i had a similar encounter with items that were meant to have been shipped with Parcelforce... only to be advised after i paid that they were shipping with DHL on that occasion... nothing i could do , and it wasnt costing me anymore .

came home from work expecting to find a delivery attempted card (the girlfriend decided to go shopping instead)... nothing whatsoever...

about 6pm that night i got a knock at the door ... one of my neighbours bringing over my package that was meant to have been signed for...
so the item was delivered to a neighbour when i had not indicated that was acceptable - (nor was that marked on the packaging by the seller) , no signature had been collected, and no note had been left for me indicating that the item was with a neighbour...

i kicked up bloody murder with the seller and with DHL directly... the seller refused to issue a refund as obviously i had recieved the item - or i wouldnt have been complaining, and all i got was what looked like a pre- printed letter appologising for the "slight oversight" by the delivery person on this occasion... and that they hoped that i would consider using DHL in the future... what a total f*** up

and people complain about us

My first Christmas I had a customer who said her mother had sent her kids £100 so could I "look out for the envelope" and "make sure it gets to me" I obviously told her that it should be sent SD as it was cash, she shrugged. Next day there she was on the doorstep "where's my letter??" This went on for about a week with her getting ever more irate. Then one day she comes running up the street to meet me shouting "You theving bast*rd" she sent it last week... wheres my money I'll report you to the police" etc etc. Next day she gets an envelope that looks like a christmas card. I ask if this was what she was looking for? and pointing out that it was post dated for the previous day. She grabs it rips it open finds a Christmas cards and believe it or not £100 in £10 notes... looks at me with contempt says nothing and slams the door in my face!

Customers hey!!
