Getting pressurised by managers now.

In our office at the moment we have had some busy days in the past couple of weeks and now the mangers are throwing off the absorption walk and bundling up for the staff.
Manager comes around shouting “ we are absorbing to day guys” then when a few say “I can’t do it today” he stops and starts going on about the gaps in your frame and the time you are leaving the office. But the best one yet is he puts bundles on the posties frames, the other day and said “ there is your absorption lads no reason why you cant do it” to me this is pressurising the staff and harassment.
I told him the other day it will still be there at 4pm my old mucker, after all he put it there not me.
ONLY IF YOU GOT TIME. Will they listen?
The dickheads that come in early and don’t take their break are making the job still look a piece of piss an that’s why we absorp everyday..

We get threatened with conduct code if its not done

Even if we do a split on OT we have to absorb the bit that would have gone to that walk no matter how far away it is.

This can add over 30 mins to OT unpaid.

Took it back today as it was for flats and the trades buttons were off.

These flats havent had mail all week as they are always shut and everyones at work at 4pm.

Keep telling my manager but all he gives me is a vacant expression and walks off.

Absorbing in this instance contravenes the USO/Last letter so why arent the CWU/RM or whoever or whatever all over this?

Problem is its not my manager... who on the whole is O.K. Bit hard to go into too much detail on a public forum at this point.

But were still beholden to RM to first investigate it fairly and then if warranted ensure things change... not 100% sure of this would happen at the moment.

The recriminations are to horrible to think about!

The managers are coming out with crap like we will test your walk if you cant absorb and intimidating you by picking up empty boxes near your frame and weighing up your frame not to mention shoe box sizes they are throwing in our bulkys. We once had a jig on the bulky if the packet never went through you don't take it, that has disappeared now. Test it anytime they like. I work my hours take my break come in at the right time so they can sod off. The HCT was supposed to come into my office but they have had second thoughts now that its not working in offices, the reason for the HCT was taking weight of your back, but that all gone out the window now......

Ok we have been here at our place

If your gen with your delivery time and iam no doubt that you are, then challenge them to test it. However dont be fooled into being taken into the office and showed the bloody thing on Georoute

Get them to shadow you around the whole delivery and they will soon see. We tried this and our dom got bored after 11am and walked back to the office as it was past her Subway brek break.

The HCT is a good way of testing a walk. This new revision new i started last week was taking 3.45 hrs on a bike and now taking me 4.20 hrs using a trolley. Absorbtion, i dont think so
