Not sure, but I have a feeling that you must never hand a postal item to a police man .I think there is some horrible law which would mean you could be jailed.I think this is one for your managers.

We had this problem in office, we knew exactly what we were delivering, official advice from IB was do nothing as its not classed as a suspicious package until its spilling out of package or is clearly visable, so after one arrived in a damaged and half opened condition, (don't know how that happened the guys on packets uaually take care of the ones that say fragile!) And it was then spilling out we then notified IB but we never never. allowed to OFFICIALLY notify police

Post it to the right address and dont get involved would be your best bet! Who know whats in half the parcels we deliver on a daily basis? Could be guns, grenades, arsnic etc but its none of your concern as your not a police officer!

Also in real life about 15 yrs ago,1 kg of cannabis held in Dundee police station for training purposes went missing!

A packet came in our office from brazil with return to sender on it, it was slightly damaged and cannabis was falling out in individual bags. It was given to the dom who then contacted the police, a policeman came in the office and dressed in rm uniform. He went out on delivery and kindly knocked on the door of the sender and the rest is history lol

Housing Executive estate and I don't know the smell, maybe we're a more law abiding people than I thought
