Hello everybody my name is ********* ******* I have been a postman in portsmouth sorting office for the past 15 years last december i was sacked after a mail bag was stolen on my delivery I DO HAVE A CLEAR CONDUCT CODE RECORD but my DOM ****** ******* Has had it in for me since last year I was visciously attacked and had to have a month off work due to my injuries and i was put on a stage 3 warning and my DOM had thoughts about sacking me but somehow didnt have had my appeal 2 weeks ago and was told on the day i have to wait between 60-90 days for an answer i am now on jobseekers allowance which is £65.50 and now without no job i can not pay my debts off i am furious with my union rep who has been no help at all i need this job back so badly

sorry to hear about that,, they have sacked you, the union is a joke,, they don't help anyone,, ive stopped paying my union sub s, and now buy a pint with the money,,,, i get so much more satisfaction from a beer, than i ever did from the useless, hopeless... union..........

You chances of success depend on the circumstances of the theft.

1. Some young scroat threatened to stab you unless you handed the mail over - Should not be sacked in the first place so you stand a good chance.

2. Had it knicked out of your car whilst using it as a pouch drop - depends if you followed all the requirements esp about keep the mail out of site and insurance - you might have a chance. If you didn't - Not a hope.

3. If you removed the bag from your person and left it on a wall etc whilst you did a few addresses. Again not a chance.

4. If it was stolen from an official safe drop - Should not have been sacked so you stand a chance.

5. You were using an unofficial bag drop and it was stolen from there - No chance.

6. If it was stolen from a HCT or LWT then it again depends if you followed the guidlines about how long it can be left and if you had secured it.
